Welcome! These are all agates that I own. Most I purchased at various rock shows or auctions. The eye agate I found myself (see #28). Most are Lake Superior agates ("Lakers"), but there are also Luguna, Dryhead, Fairburn, Botswana, and Brazil agates here. Don't miss the original sizes that are available for many of these images. NOTE: For purposes of online presentation colors of agate specimens may be a bit more saturated than in reality.

Did you know that God likes agates too? Besides the obvious (one who makes something so beautiful must of himself also enjoy it) we find in the Bible that God says part of the foundation of the walls of his heavenly city will be of agate (see Revelation 21:19). Dave Englund > .25oz beautiful Lake Superior "Eye" Agate; 2.7cm x 2cm x 1.5cm.

I found this little rock in a gravel pit outside Moose Lake Minnesota. It was my first time out "rock-hunting" with a more experienced hunter. He was flabbergasted that I found such a jewel my first time out. I tumbled it with some other rocks and this was the result.

It looks to be a mixture of Brazilian agates and various solid color quartz spheres. I purchased these years ago at a garage sale for less than $2.50 for the group.

Dave Englund > A beautiful blue Brazilian agate; 14.5cm x 10cm x 7.7cm.

Many Brazilian's are artificially dyed or oven-baked to intensify their colors. Seeing that the quartz and pyrite cavity is still very white, it would seem to indicate the blue is the natural color of the rock

Very colorful and it would seem the rock's natural colors as none are predominant. That's usually the first sign of a dyed or baked rock.

By the way, this rock is not face-polished. I have a slice of this same rock that was polished. It's quite unusual to get both a slice and the original rock it came from.
